Running Spikes - Customer Reviews

It is testament to the value of the product when someone takes the trouble to air their views and share their thoughts with others. There is plenty of choice in running shoes, running clothing and of course running spikes. With this in mind we are pleased to publish some of the specialist running spike customer reviews.

Adidas B Demolisher Sprint Spike customer review

The Adidas B Demolisher is a snug but comfortable; assured but aggressive fitting track sprint spike. It has a very rigid and strong supportive sole plate that makes sure that powerful sprinters achieve the maximum efficiency in their stride by keeping you well on your toes throughout the entire foot strike cycle. These are mean and moody sprint spikes built for speed and optimum competition performance. They are lightweight and the silver colour with zipped lace covers definitely sets the scene for competition and a fast time. I have found them to do everything I wanted from my sprint spikes and they have stood up the test being lightweight but very strong and durable.

Asics Japan Lite-ning 3 Sprint Spike customer review

The overwhelming feeling I have about the Asics Japan Litening 3 sprint spikes is that they feel better on my feet than any other running spikes I have ever had. I do not actually feel as if I have them on they are so light in weight. In actual fact when I first received them through the post from Wynsport. I thought that they had not been put into the box they were that light and this feeling has been continuing feature ever since. Even though they feel like they are not actually on you do still feel the sole spike plate pushing you forwards propelling you into the best possible sprint stride positioning. Whilst they are a sprint aggressive design they are still refined. The upper is ultra lightweight and very comfortable and I have found them to be the best and easiest to tighten making sure that they feel secure when I am in full flow. I ordered them in the afternoon on the Thursday hoping that I would have them for a weekend track meeting and was really pleased that I had them the next morning. It’s quite refreshing that they were in stock rather than being advertised and not ready and waiting to be sent out!

Adidas Sprint Star Men's customer review

The Adidas Sprint Star Men's has been a great buy for me. It fulfils all the requirements I have from a track spike across every aspect of my spring/summer programme. It is versatile which is important and I can use it both in training and competition. It is not limited to one event as I have found with previous spikes I have had in the past. It seems to step up to the plate (which is quite apt really!) and adapt to the needs I ask of it; so when I am in the 100 metres it is aggressive enough to keep me on my toes to perform but also has enough flex to be comfortable at 400 metres when I am not right on the edge and need just that little more comfort. The Sprint Star is very lightweight and is very well constructed and has lasted despite the amount of use I have had out of them. I called before I ordered on-line and was impressed by the answers to my questions and that they would be sent out the same day even though it was quite late in the day.

Adidas Sprint Star Women's customer review

With small feet I have always had issues with sizing and fit especially with specialist sports footwear. Being a very important factor for me and getting into track sprints I was pleased to eventually find a women’s specific spike in the Adidas Sprint Star Women's. The slimmer fitting especially gives me confidence around the heel which is really noticeable (or should that be unnoticeable) at full throttle in an event. Of course they have all the features you’d expect from a sprint spike. They are really light and they look great. Whilst they do push me forward onto my toes they are not that harsh on me and the comfort is a real bonus as I was expecting some compromise that I never had to make.

Adidas Edge Arriba customer review

I was drawn to the Edge Arriba first of all for three main reasons. The first was that I had never owned a pair of spikes before, the second was that I had not actually committed myself to a particular event and thirdly I did not want to over commit myself financially. The Adidas Edge Arriba track and field spikes when up against the other ones I saw immediately looked less aggressive or for my part intimidating. This kind of made sense to me as I wanted an all rounder that I could do some speed work in and take part in middle distance as well as longer sprints. They are light in weight and the mesh style upper makes them both very comfortable and airy. The sole/plate is rigid but retains some flexibility so that they are not too overbearing on my feet for the 800 or 1500 metres but I feel that I can still get best results out of them for the 400 metres. They seem to be holding up to the work I have been doing in them and I am happy to review and recommend these running spikes to anyone.

Mizuno Tempo MD customer review

I had never seen a pair of Mizuno spikes before and I knew from the first moment I put them on that they would be good for me. The fit is very comfortable which is something I have previously struggled with my feet in the past. The mix of materials used including the mesh upper with leather eyelets around the lace area means that they feel really light but I can make sure that they are really tight; meaning that whilst I cannot feel much when they are on (as they are so light) I do still get the impression of security pulling the laces tight enough so that I can feel connected to the shoe. The Mizuno Tempo MD has a plate at the front of the foot which is rigid but become flexible from the arch onwards and I find that this gives me all I need in terms of competing at different distances which whilst I mainly run the 1500 metres I can still do some speed work at shorter distances.

Asics Hyper MD customer review

I wear the Asics Hyper MD alongside my other Asics sprint specific spikes and the benefits really come out best when I change over between the two. The Hyper MD suits me because it is very light but is still very strong. I am quite an aggressive runner so my middle distance spikes need to be resilient and these certainly have been so far. They are very comfortable and I like the rigid heel surround which makes me feel much protected. The mix of mesh and synthetic leather in the upper allows my feet to stay cool, keeps the weight down but allows me to keep the upper firmly tightened. The joins between the upper and sole seem well connected also.

Adidas Boston LD customer review

What can I say, the adiprene® on the Adidas Boston LD is very noticeable and appreciated towards the end of a race. For me this is something that has always been the trade off with having the benefits of running spikes for long distance events. My training is in my normal Asics running shoes so often the transition into completion spikes means that I suffer afterwards. The Boston LD spikes though offer just that little bit more cushioning in the heel and forefoot to make this change a bit better to take. Otherwise they are great, I feel very confident when I run in them and they have lasted all season.

Asics Cyberflash Beijing customer review

As a short sprint specialist spike the Asics Cyberflash packs in a lot of features into a very light weighing package. Pushed hard onto your toes the spike plate is rigid in the right direction but this does not mean that it is any way uncomfortable. The lace covering flap goes almost all of the way across the forefoot upper held in place with a small Velcro strap and the remaining quarter upper is a light mesh which seems to ventilate the foot. The Cyberflash looks and performs great.

Asics Hyper Sprint customer review

As all out sprint spikes go Asics has put a good range together and the Hyper Sprint sits in the middle somewhere I would say. It is not as full on as the Cyberflash but a bit more substantial than the ultra light Japan Lite-ning. It is still a sprint specific track spike and is strong and hardwearing that it could be used regularly and stand the test of time and competition. It is affordable to be a good back up competition spike if feet are aching and not up to the no holds barred on the tip of your toes sprint spikes.

Adidas Neptune XS customer review

I have been very happy with Adidas Neptune Cross Country spikes since buying them at the start of the season. I get the sense that they are working with and for me, keeping me connected to keep my traction and my foot planted into the right areas of the shoe. They are really light and comfortable and have been the perfect shoe during events. I would buy them again.
